From May 13, 2022, the Immigration Agency of Mongolia will receive applications for extension of a temporary stay in Mongolia and de-registration of a foreign national’s residence permit online.
If a foreign national left indefinitely and does not plan on returning within the period of his/her residence permit validity period, he/she would apply for de-registration in person and his/her residence permit would be confiscated. In order to simplify this service, the request for de-registration will be received and resolved online (https://immigration.gov.mn/mn/residence-permit-cancel/). However, after the confiscation of your residence permit, the “de-registered” mark can be made at the border crossings or at the Immigration Agency of Mongolia, or at the local branches.
In accordance with the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign National, a temporary visitor was required to apply in person for a one-time visa extension in Mongolia for up to 30 days. Now, a temporary visitor can apply for an extension online (https://immigration.gov.mn/mn/visa-extension/) and should apply at least 5 working days before the end of their visa validity period.
