Foreign nationals who participated in recent protests were reminded of the laws of Mongolia by the Immigration Agency of Mongolia and provided relevant information and guidance. Specifically, unnamed foreign nationals have participated in activities prohibited for foreigners as stipulated in Article 8 of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals, the Immigration Agency of Mongolia hence issued a personal warning to those foreign nationals to comply with the laws and regulations of Mongolia.
Article 8.1.3 of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals prohibits a foreign national from engaging in any political activities including setting up and joining or providing funds and financial support to organizations that carry out political activities in Mongolia;
Also, in 8.1.4, carrying out activities aimed at endangering the national unity of Mongolia, spreading cruel and inhuman religious teachings and doctrines, conducting religious activities in violation of human rights and other illegal methods, distributing, promoting and using drugs, and psychotropic substances are prohibited;
Therefore, foreign nationals living in Mongolia are advised to obey the laws of Mongolia, not to participate in any political protests, and to ensure their safety and prevent involvement in crime and violations.
In addition, please note that there is a legal regulation that provides grounds for deportation for any foreign national who violates the relevant laws of Mongolia, commits illegal acts, and conducts activities prohibited for foreign nationals.
