With the aim of protecting the legal rights of foreign nationals visiting Mongolia for short-term business purposes, boosting investment, ensuring accurate visa applications, and improving service delivery, the Immigration Agency of Mongolia now accepts electronic applications for ten-day K1 and A3 visas without requiring an inviter.
Previously, foreign nationals traveling for business, investment, participation in international or business conferences, meetings, or visits were required to have an inviter in order to apply for a visa. Those without business partners or inviters could not apply for this type of visa. This previously led many travelers to apply for tourist e-visas that did not match their actual purpose of travel, increasing the risk of violations for engaging in activities outside the declared intent.
Now, foreigners coming to Mongolia for short-term business purposes for up to 10 days may apply independently without an inviter through the electronic visa system (isf.mn). Visa applications will be processed promptly within 48 hours, similar to tourist e-visas.
This new arrangement, which enables the issuance of ten-day A3 visas for official and international organization visits and K1 visas for business travel without an inviter, marks an important step toward improving the international business environment, attracting investment, and enhancing the speed and accessibility of visa services.
