Required materials 

• Official invitation letter (Must include purpose and duration of stay)
• Original copy of documents used in visa permission application (including official request letter)  
• Address statement by local sum, khoroo`s authority;
• Copy of passport or relevant valid substitute (must be valid for a minimum of 180 days before your intended travel to Mongolia);
• 2 photos (size 3.5x4.5)
• Certificate that states that a a foreign national who has made an outstanding contribution to Mongolia, or who has acquired a profession or specialization that is in great demand in Mongolia, and who has made great achievements in any field of science.
• Receipt of payment 
• Application form (apply online)

Notice 
 

• Short-term visitor must apply for residence permit at the Immigration Agency of Mongolia within 21 days after entry
• Unless otherwise provided by an international agreement of Mongolia on the conditions of mutual travel, a foreign citizen shall obtain a visa permission in advance if he/she requests a residence permit for a longer period of time than specified in the agreement.
• Foreign national must apply for a residency permit at Immigration Agency of Mongolia 21 days after entering the country 
•  A foreign national applying for a residence permit for the first time must come to the Immigration agency in person and register biometric data (fingerprints, photos).
• Residence permit is issued up to 5 years
• In case of refusal to issue or renew a residence permit, the same type of residence may be re-applied for after 1 year.
• Residency permit period for an official or private purposes shall be determined and not exceed the period specified in Article 27.1 of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreign Nationals .
