Matters related to renunciation and restoration of Mongolian citizenship is regulated by Law on Citizenship(1995), Government Resolution No.62 (2003) " "Regulation for determining the requirements for Mongolian citizenship for a foreign national and stateless person", Mongolia Immigration Agency`s General Director`s order No.65 in 2016 "Regulation for interviewing an applicant for Mongolian citizenship" and No.226 in 2014 "List of requirements for resolving Mongolian citizenship"

In accordance with 62th resolution of Mongolian Government "Regulation for determining the requirements for Mongolian citizenship for a foreign national and stateless person"

General Authority for Citizenship and Immigration of Mongolia`s General Director`s order No.226 in 2014 "List of requirements for resolving Mongolian citizenship"

Mongolia Immigration Agency`s General Director`s order No.65 in 2016 "Regulation for interviewing an applicant for Mongolian citizenship"

In case of residence in Mongolia, the application shall be submitted to the Governor of the aimag or the capital city, and in case of residence abroad, to the diplomatic mission or consulate of Mongolia abroad.

Eligibility:

1.To have certain living capability and source /Must have legal living sources and monthly income shall be 10 times more than the minimum wage limit/
2. To possess certain knowledge about Mongolian people’s traditions, official language and the Constitution of Mongolia. /Must be able to speak and understand Mongolian language well, know well about Mongolian people’s traditions and customs and have general understanding of the Constitution of Mongolia and other legal remedies/. To have resided in the territory of Mongolia permanently for at least 5 years
3. The applicant is required to obtain a certificate from the competent authority of the country of residence or from the diplomatic mission or consulate of that country in Mongolia.
